The 16th Annual C.U.R.B. Bike Ride!

For those of you who do not know, my friends and I have been running an annual bike ride event in the City of Long Beach, since 2004, to help raise money for C.U.R.B. (Citizens United to Remove Barriers). C.U.R.B. is a non-profit organization whose members have been advocating for the physically challenged since 1988. C.U.R.B. has been closely involved with the New York State Special Olympics, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Viscardi School for Disabled Students, the Long Island Center for Independent Living, and many more great organizations.

This year’s ride is slated to begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 10th at the Long Beach Recreation Center, 660 Magnolia Blvd. The ride will go through all of Long Beach’s hot spots/scenic routes including, the West End, the boardwalk and the canals. The festivities begin at 9:00 am with live music by the bay! Check-in tables open at 9:00 am as well so you can claim your t-shirt, enter to win raffle prizes, or register some last-minute participants. Following the ride there will be complimentary food and refreshments donated by some of our very generous sponsors.

Every year this event has become larger and more successful in both participants and dollars raised. None of this would be possible without the participation of all of our riders and the generosity of all of our sponsors! Not only would we like to ask everyone at The Rock to join us for this great event (which makes for a great active recovery day), but we would also like to ask if any of the businesses/organizations that you own/work for would like to sponsor our ride as well.
